Student Q&A
Everything new students ask us
Collected from twelve years of reception-desk conversations. If your question isn't here, ask us directly — a human replies within one working day.
How does the free placement session work?
You book a slot, come in (or join online), complete a short written task and have a ten-minute conversation with a coach. Together that pins down your CEFR level. You leave with a recommended programme, a start date and a study plan — and zero obligation to enrol.
Which English course is right for me?
As a rough compass: building all-round skills points to General English; confidence in speaking points to the Conversation Club; workplace goals point to Business English; a target score points to Exam Preparation; and children belong in English for Kids. The placement session settles borderline cases.
What are the class sizes, really?
Eight is the hard maximum in every group programme, and we mean it — the ninth enrolment opens a new group, even when that group starts with one student. Conversation Club evenings run with six to ten members split into circles of three or four.
How and when do I pay?
Fees are payable before each block or term begins, by bank transfer, card at reception, or DuitNow. We do not take post-dated commitments and there are no hidden registration fees; the price quoted includes materials and assessments.
What happens if I miss classes?
Group lessons cannot be individually rescheduled, but every week's materials and homework are shared digitally, and your coach will flag anything essential you missed at the next session. Private 1-to-1 hours can be rebooked up to 24 hours in advance without charge.
Can I get a refund if I withdraw?
Yes, on a sliding scale set out in our Return & Refund Policy — in short: a full refund before your block starts, a prorated refund in the first week, and credit toward future study after that.
Do I get a certificate at the end?
Completing any level or cycle earns a CoachCare Academy certificate recording the CEFR level and hours completed. Exam-preparation students additionally keep their full mock-test score history, which some university agents accept as supporting evidence.
Where exactly are you, and is there parking?
Unit 9-3, Level 9, Wisma Mont Ara, 18 Jalan Kiara 3, Mont Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur. The building has visitor parking on levels 2–4 (first hour free with validation from our reception), and we are a short Grab ride from Sri Hartamas and Dutamas. Full directions are on the contact page.
